What is the Joy of the Lord?

I recently ran across an article that asked, “What is the Joy of the Lord?”

Here is the answer from GotQuestions.org: The joy of the Lord is the gladness of heart that comes from knowing God, abiding in Christ, and being filled with the Holy Spirit.

THe hoy of the ord is the gladness of heart that comes from knowing God, abiding in Christ, and being filled with the Holy Spirit.

The gladness of heart that comes from knowing God – Do you remember what it felt like when you accepted Jesus into your heart? Did you feel a joy or overwhelming feeling? It may have been more of a peaceful feeling or even a feeling you can’t quite explain. But it changed you! From that point on you knew God. And His word says, ‘He will not leave you nor forsake you’.

Abiding in Christ – He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1 NAS) If you stay close to God he will shadow you with protection, strength, and help you through every circumstance.

Indwelling of the Holy Spirit – When you accept Jesus into your heart and life the Holy Spirit lives with you.  And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 1:13 NIV) The Holy Spirit is your comforter. (John 14:16)

Whatever circumstances you are going through today know that…. The Joy of the Lord is Your Strength!

Trust in Him, abide close to Him, and let the Holy Spirit comfort you. If you have not accepted Jesus as your savior I encourage you to read this

The Joy of the Lord is your Strength

Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10)
